Workshop 1: Beyond the Frame with Jonathan Auf Der Heide

Jonathan Auf Der Heide studied filmmaking at the VCA where his graduation film Hell’s Gates won both best student film and best emerging filmmaker awards at the Melbourne International Film Festival in 2008. Join Jonathan as he discusses his critically acclaimed film, Van Diemen’s Land (2009) and how he transitioned from the short format to a feature length film.

Workshop 2: Within the Frame with Amiel Courtin-Wilson

Amiel Courtin-Wilson wrote, directed and produced his debut feature documentary, Chasing Buddha, which premiered at Sundance in 2000. Join Amiel as he explores the mechanics of storytelling from this highly acclaimed filmmaker. Amiel will provide an insight into creating both narrative and documentary films and how he tells a unique story.
